I wish baseball was like the movies. Seems so easy and everyone turns into a baseball star in the end. But life's not that fair or simple. Even my cousin, Tommy Hunter, has had his ups and downs. He pitched for the Rangers in 2010 at the World Series and then got injured and was traded to the Orioles as a 2nd-3rd string pitcher. Baseball definately has its up and down just as fast as the ball is thrown.
But lets talk little league for awhile. The Hanksters ( minus the K) are starting the season off to a good start. This will be AJ's 4th year, Nicks 2nd and Hannah's 1st. From rookie to double A. AJ is wanting to try his hand at pitching this year which I'm afraid with his short attention span, it will be interesting. Hannah is more interested in making boyfriends... or that's what she thinks anyways. Yeah right little girl!
This year we took a more direct volunteer role and Bobby is coaching Nicks Single A team and I became the team mom. I don't really know what the role of a team mom does but I'm sure I will learn the ropes as I go. Can't be too hard right? For now we will just keep on chugging into practices and getting their hand and eye coordination better. Would I like them to go pro? Sure what mom doesn't but I'm not pushing them this young. Just like my cousin, let nature do its work and follow.
